Emory Swimming & Diving to Celebrate Senior Day on Friday

Emory Swimming & Diving to Celebrate Senior Day on Friday

The Emory University swimming & diving programs wrap up the dual meet portion of its 2015-16 season this weekend with a pair of matchups. The Eagles will first host the University of the South on Friday evening at 5:00 PM inside the Madeleine Jude Brown Aquatic Center before traveling across town to face Georgia Tech at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning.

Before the meet against Sewanee on Friday Emory will have a special ceremony to honor the 12 members of this year's graduating class – Elizabeth Aronoff, Carolyn Bonfield, Mackenzie Brosnahan, Mikayla Carnley, Megan Freeman, Monica Poleway, Ellie Thompson, Kellen Hope, John Galvin, Jared Scheuer, Matt Wu and Eagan Zettlemoyer.

The ceremony as well as the full meet will be streamed live on emoryathletics.com for a nominal fee of $7.00 to view in high quality. A standard quality of the stream will be available free of charge.

On Saturday, family and friends unable to make the trip across town can still follow the action by tracking the live updating results here: http://www.ramblinwreck.com/livestats/c-swim/. Fans can also watch the meet live streamed here.

The Panthers will enter the meet with a record of 2-2 in dual meets for both the men's and women's squads. Emory has had its way with Sewanee of late, with the women owning a 20-1 all-time edge with the only defeat coming in 1987 while the men are 19-2 in 21 all-time meetings with the Panthers and have won 12 straight meetings since 1999.

The Yellow Jackets come into the weekend receiving votes in the latest CSCAA poll while the women are on the outside looking in. The Georgia Tech men are 6-4 on the season whereas the women are 3-8 on the season. The Eagles' men's and women's programs have both knocked off the Ramblin' Wreck twice in the all-time series. In the previous meeting between the two schools, Tech edged out the women 159-140 and the men fell 193-95.

Full results and meet recaps will be available on emoryathletics.com following the conclusion of the two meets on both days.
