Emory Men's Swimming & Diving Defeats Birmingham-Southern, 155-107

The Emory University Men's Swimming and Diving team improved to 4-0 in dual meets on the season, defeating Birmingham-Southern 155-107 on Saturday afternoon in Birmingham, Alabama. The Eagles registered nine first place finishes and added a victory in the 400 Free Relay en route to the win.

Senior Mitchell Cooper paced Emory on the afternoon with a pair of individual event victories, winning the 100 Back (51.95) and the 200 Fly (1:58.11). Cooper aided on the relay victory as well, swimming the third leg. Cooper along with junior Aaron Schwartz and sophomores Carter Hardy and Matt Rogers touched at 3:11.13 to win the event.

Adding victories for the Eagles on Saturday were freshman Ton Kiangsiri in the 100 Breast (58.50), junior Cooper Tollen in the 100 Fly (52.67), freshman Andrew duPont in the 200 Free (1:44.06), Schwartz in the 50 Free (21.70), sophomore Zachary Chen in the 200 IM (1:55.46), Hardy in the 100 Free (49.05) and sophomore Jonathan Morse in the 200 Breast (2:11.33).

Emory is back in action next Saturday, January 21st at 11:00 AM in the final home meet of the season. Prior to the start of the meet, men's swimming & diving seniors Cooper, Andrew Wilson, Christian Baker and Hayes Burdette-Sapp will be recognize with a pre-meet ceremony.
