Wilson, Baker, Daniels Reach Finals on Day One of Arena Pro Swim Series

Seniors Andrew Wilson, Christian Baker and sophomore Ashley Daniels reached the finals of their respective events during the first day of competition of the Arena Pro Swim Series at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.

Wilson reached the A finals of the 200 Breast, finishing third with a time of 2:13.12. Wilson also recorded the third best time in preliminaries, touching at 2:16.97. He was edged out in the finals by 2016 Olympic Sliver medalist Josh Prenot (2:11.15) and Nicolas Fink (2:11.40).

In the women's 200 Breast, Daniels reached the C finals with a preliminary time of 2:39.81. She finished 22nd overall following a time of 2:40.45 during the finals.

Baker advanced to the D final of the 400 Free with a time of 4:04.89 during the morning prelims. He placed 28th overall after a finals mark of 4:04.41.

Other Eagles competing on Friday were sophomore Trey Kolleck (42nd, 53.49) and junior Oliver Smith (45th, 53.60) in the 100 Free, sophomore Thomas Gordon in the 400 Free (51st, 4:14.07), sophomore Fiona Muir in the 100 Free (62nd, 58.96) and in the 100 Fly (58th, 1:04.76) and junior Cindy Cheng in the 400 Free (66th, 4:33.82).

Day two events on Saturday will include the 400 IM, 200 Free, 200 Back and the 50 Free. Action begins at 10:00 AM EST with preliminaries with the finals to follow at 7:00 PM EST. Fans can follow the action with live results and a live web stream which can found at usaswimming.org. NBC Sports Network will also be airing the finals tomorrow night with coverage beginning at 7:00 PM EST.
