Senior (2006):
Ferlianto helped guide the Eagles to the program's second
national championship in four years. He is the one of two
players in program history to be a member of both championship
teams with the other being Patrick Redmond. He dominated
singles play, finishing 19-1. During the college season he
was a perfect 19-0, going 1-0 at No. 4, 12-0 at No. 5 and 5-0 at
No. 6. He was 1-1 in ITA matches. In three-set matches
he finished 2-1, while going 3-1 in tiebreakers and 2-0 in
third-set tiebreakers. Ferlianto's career singles winning
percentage of .867 stands as the programs' top percentage. Doubles
play saw him end with a record of 16-3, highlighted by an 8-1
record with Hardy Ehlers at No. 2 doubles. He finishes with a
doubles record of 70-19 (.787). The .787 winning percentage is
second on the all time win list. Named first team All-UAA for No. 5
singles and No. 2 doubles.
Junior (2005):
Ferlianto was 24th in the final regional singles rankings
compiled by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The junior was
voted to the all-conference team in singles for the first time and
in doubles for the second time. He compiled a season record of 17-5
in singles, including eight wins against opponents from Division
III teams ranked in the top 25 nationally. Ferlianto has a career
singles record of 53-10 (.841) which puts him on pace to break the
school record for best career win percentage. He is 20th at Emory
all-time for career singles wins, second in doubles win percentage
(.771), and 14th in career doubles wins (54). Ferlianto received
the team's Sportsmanship Award.
Sophomore (2004):
Ferlianto became an All-American for the first time in his
career. He did so by winning the regional doubles title, along with
Mark Odgers, at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association fall
championships. The duo advanced to the ITA national tournament
where it finished second among Division III doubles competitors.
Ferlianto compiled a 24-1 record in singles this season, including
a perfect 16-0 in the No. 6 singles position. He was 11-0 in
singles against opponents from nationally ranked top-25 teams. His
season singles win percentage, .960, is a school record, while his
24 wins ties for the 10th-highest total ever at Emory. Ferlianto
also set a school record with 27 doubles wins (against three
losses) this season and his doubles win percentage, .900, this
season is the fourth best in school history. He and teammate
Patrick Redmond were 12th in the final regional doubles rankings.
After two seasons, Ferlianto has career records of 36-5 in singles
and 38-9 in doubles.
Freshman (2003):
Freshman Jesse Ferlianto finished the season with a
singles record of 12-4, including 10-1 against NCAA Division III
top-20 competition. Ferlianto and doubles partner Tyson Ramsay were
eighth in the final regional doubles rankings. Ferlianto was named
regional Rookie of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis
Association (ITA). He received the team's Sportsmanship Award.
