Junior (2008-09):
Made key contributions in helping the Eagles to a third-place national finish ... Saw the bulk of his action in doubles where he combined with Mark Boren to finish with an overall mark of 19-9 (15-8 dual) ... Caplan and Boren were Second Team All-UAA honorees at No. 2 doubles and ended the year ranked as the No. 9 tandem in the Atlantic South Region ... The pair advanced to the championship match of the ITA Regionals, falling to teammates Michael and Chris Goodwin in the title contest ... In singles action, he compiled an overall showing of 7-1 (4-0 dual) ... Advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Championships ... Sophomore (2007-08):
Second year in the program saw him record an overall record of 19-6 in singles action (15-5 dual) ... Advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Regional Championships where he fell to eventual champ Mark Boren ... Earned First Team All-UAA honors at No. 1 doubles along with Michael Goodwin ... Caplan and Goodwin combined for a mark of 8-1 at the No. 1 doubles position while Caplan finished with an overall slate of 22-5 in doubles (14-4 with Hardy Ehlers) ... Ehlers and Caplan advanced to the doubles championship of the ITA Regionals ... Rattled off seven straight singles wins (Mar. 15 through Apr. 25) including a three-set marathon against John Smetona of Carnegie Mellon in the UAA Championships.

Freshman (2006-07):
Finished his rookie year with a 3-0 record in singles play, all coming at the No. 5 slot ... Won a pair of matches on March 3 against Ferrum and Oglethorpe ... Other singles win came against Jake LeMaster of Piedmont ... Posted a 6-3 record playing doubles.

Prior to Emory: Was the number one singles player for the Flint Hill School for his sophomore, junior and senior years... Compiled a 42-1 record during his four years on the team... Named the team captain his senior season... Honorable-mention pick to the "All-Met" team by the Washington Post and an All-MAC player each of his four seasons... Named to the all-Examiner team in 2005 and 2006... Member of the state championship team in 2006... Coached by Jim Elder... Participated in the Supernational Clay Court and Hard Court Championships from 2001-2005... Advanced to the semifinals of the Columbus Indoor.
