Chris Goodwin

Emory sophomore Chris Goodwin advanced to the finals of the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Championships, becoming the second straight Eagle to accomplish that feat.

Goodwin opened the singles portion of the Championships with a straight-set win over Scott Sundstrom of Luther College before registering a 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 decision against Nick Lebedoff of Williams College in the Round of 16.  Goodwin continued his winning ways in the quaterfinals, getting the better of Andy Peters of Middlebury College, 7-6, 6-3, with the triumph sending him to the semifinals where he battled to a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 decision over Austin Chafetz of Amherst.  Goodwin saw his quest for the title end in the finals when John Watts of Washington University came away with a 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Chris concluded the 2009-10 campaign with an overall record of 25-9 in singles action.
