The No. 3-ranked Emory University men's tennis team returns to
the Woodruff PE Center this week when it hosts a pair of
opponents. On Thursday (Apr. 8), the Eagles entertain the
University of the South starting at 4:00 p.m., before playing host
to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Friday beginning at 1:00
p.m.
The Eagles of head coach of John Browning post an overall record of
7-7 and will be looking to get back into the win column after
dropping three matches at the Small College Blue & Gray
Invitational last weekend. On the opening day of action,
Emory dropped an 8-1 verdict to Valdosta State, ranked No. 3 in
Division II, before coming up short to NAIA power and host
Auburn-Montgomery, 5-2. In the team’s last match, the
Eagles fell to the University of West Florida, 8-1.
The University of the South will take an overall ledger of 7-9 in
Thursday’s contest against Emory, while ABAC stands 9-3
heading into a Thursday battle against West Florida.
