Dillon Pottish Named UAA Men's Tennis Co-Player Of The Week

Emory University senior Dillon Pottish (East Quogue, NY) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Tennis Co-Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a pair of NCAA Regional victories.  It marks the sixth time during the 2011-12 campaign and 13th time in his career that he has captured the honor.

Pottish, who stands as the No. 1-ranked singles player in the D-III ranks, went 2-0 in both singles and doubles in helping Emory raise its overall record to 22-0.  In a 5-0 decision over No. 20 Washington and Lee, Pottish teamed with freshman Brian Kowalski to earn an 8-3 decision at No. 3 doubles, and then came away with a 6-1, 6-2 outcome over Hayden White at No. 1 singles.  In a 5-1 win over No. 19 North Carolina Wesleyan in the regional final, Pottish and Kowalski won at No. 3 doubles with Pottish also recording a
6-2, 6-2, decision over Rinat Khussainov at first singles, raising his spring record to 19-1 (28-2 overall).

Career-wise, Pottish has manufactured a career singles slate of 91-13 with his victory total tying for fourth on the school's all-time list.  In addition, his .875 winning percentage is No. 1 mark in Emory men's tennis history.

The Eagles have advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA D-III Championships and will meet Johns Hopkins on Monday, May 21, in Cary, North Carolina.
