Emory University senior Dillon Pottish has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for his outstanding play in 2011-12 by being named as the Division III National Senior Player of the Year.

Pottish has been ranked as the No. 1 singles player in the D-III ranks the past two seasons and has chalked up an overall record of 29-3 as he heads into the singles competition at the NCAA D-III Championships.  Pottish was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Most Valuable Player all three seasons that he competed for Emory, and his rock-solid play helped the Eagles to a perfect 25-0 won-lost record this year that included the program's third national title.  During the fall, he became the first player in school history to win three ITA Regional singles championships and he defended his D-III singles crown at the ensuing Small College Championships, defeating Adam Putterman of Washington University in the title match.

Career-wise, Pottish has hammered out a singles ledger of 92-14, with his victory total good for fourth place on the school's all-time list, one shy of tying Todd Kennedy (1988-92) for the No. 3 spot.  In addition, he currently holds the school record for highest winning percentage in program history (.867).

Pottish becomes the third Emory player to earn ITA Senior Player of the Year accolades, joining Mark Odgers (2005) and Michael Goodwin (2009).
