The No. 2-ranked Emory men's tennis team fell short in the championship match of the Stag Hen Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Eagles saw their spring record slip to 7-4 after coming out on the short end of an 8-1 decision to No. 4 Claremont-Mudd Scripps who upped its won-lost ledger to 9-1. The match was played at the Biszantz Tennis Center on the CMS campus.
Sophomore Ian Wagner claimed the lone point for Emory, winning a 7-5, 7-5 decision over Nikolas Marion at No. 3 singles, raising his spring record to 9-2. Freshmen Rafe Mosetick and Will Adams took their opponents to tie-breakers at Nos. 4 and 6 singles, respectively, but saw their bids for wins stymied.
Emory returns to action on Wednesday (Mar. 20) when it plays host to Georgia Perimeter in a 3:00 pm match.
