Emory Trio To Compete at NCAA Division III Men's Singles & Doubles Championships

The Emory men's tennis program will have three competitors in this year's NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships with sophomore Eric Halpern taking part in singles action and the tandem of senior Elliot Kahler and sophomore Ian Wagner selected for doubles.  The NCAA D-III Singles and Doubles Championship will be held May 23-25 at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and will be preceded by the team championships, May 20-22.

Halpern, who will be playing in his first Singles Championships, has held down the No. 1 spot in the Eagles' lineup for the majority of the season, posting a won-lost record of 10-8.   He is the No. 6-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South Region.

Kahler and Wagner, ranked as the No. 2 doubles team in the region, have been solid as Emory's top duo, fashioning an impressive 19-5 record on the year.  The pair played together last season in helping the team to a national crown, turning in an overall slate of 20-5.

The individual championships shall consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships are based on win-lost record, strength of schedule, and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.
