No. 6-ranked Emory University will take on fourth-ranked Amherst College in the quarterfinals of the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships on Monday, May 19th at 12:00 pm (PDT). The event, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Claremont, California, will be held at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.

Emory will enter Monday's match with an overall record of 19-6, including a 13-3 effort against nationally ranked D-III squads. The Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals after posting a 5-0 triumph over North Carolina Wesleyan in the second round followed by a 5-3 decision over No. 12 Kenyon. Emory has three singles players slotted among the top 10 in that Atlantic South Region including top-ranked junior Alex Ruderman, No. 4 junior Eric Halpern and No. 9 sophomore Rafe Mosetick.
Over the past 24 years the Eagles have advanced to at least the quarterfinals on 22 occasions. Emory has earned a spot in the national semifinals in 10 of the past 12 seasons has won national crowns in 2003, 2006 and 2012.
Amherst owns an impressive won-lost slate of 33-3 and rolled into the quarterfinals after defeating Stevens (5-0) and No. 16 Bowdoin (5-1) in regional action. The Jeffs have won 21 of their last 22 matches and are led by senior Joey Fritz, the No. 1-ranked singles player in the Northeast Region. In addition, Fritz and classmate Justin Reindel comprise that region's No. 1 doubles team.
Amherst has won three of the five meetings with Emory including a victory in last season's NCAA Quarterfinals in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The winning team will advance to the semifinals on Tuesday and clash with the winner of the match between second-ranked Washington University and eighth-ranked Trinity University (TX).
