The No. 2-ranked Emory men's tennis team has advanced to the finals of the University Athletic Association Championships following a come-from-behind victory semifinal-round win over the University of Chicago.  The Eagles raised their overall record to 15-6 following a 5-4 decision over the No. 13 Maroons who fell to 15-5. The Championships are being held in Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Emory, the No. 1 seed in the Championships, found itself trailing by a 2-1 margin after doubles with seniors Alex Ruderman and Ian Wagner earning that point with an 8-2 verdict over Deepak Sabada and Ankur Bhargava at No. 1.

The Eagles received strong singles play, winning four points, including senior Eric Halpern's  6-7, 7-5, 6-4, battle against Sven Kranz at No. 2 that sealed the outcome of  the match.  The triumph boosted Halpern's overall singles mark to 16-9.  Sophomores Aman Manji and Josh Goodman each won for the second straight day with Manji capturing a 7-5, 7-5, decision at No. 6 while Goodman defeated Luke Tsai, 6-4, 3-6, 6-0, at No. 5.  Junior Rafe Mosetick methodically disposed of Sabada, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 3, his 18th win in 20 outings this spring (15-2 at No. 3).

Emory will meet second seed and No. 5-ranked Washington in Sunday's championship clash that is slated for a 9:00 a.m. start.  The Bears, 18-4 overall, defeated Carnegie Mellon, 7-2, in the semifinals.
