Emory Men's Tennis Wins At Johns Hopkins

Emory Men's Tennis Wins At Johns Hopkins

The No. 2-ranked Emory men's tennis team closed out a three-match road trek with a
Friday afternoon victory over Johns Hopkins. The Eagles won for the fifth straight time and improved to 13-4 this spring following a 6-3 decision over the No. 21-ranked Blue Jays who slipped to 7-2.

Emory had to rally for the win after trailing by a 2-1 margin following doubles.  Accounting for the team's point was the No. 2 team of junior Max Renke and sophomore Adrien Bouchet, who battled to an 8-6 verdict over Emerson Walsh and Justin Kang.

The Eagles were solid in singles, winning five of the six matches, four of which were straight-set outcomes.  At first singles, senior Aman Manji posted a 7-5, 4-6, 10-3 win over Jeremy Dubin, his 13th victory in 17 outings this spring. Sophomore Jonathan Jemison rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph vs. Scott Thygesen, upping his spring mark to 13-4.  Bouchet was impressive in dispatching Austin Gu, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 while Alec Josepher was victorious at the No. 5 post, topping David Perez, 6-1, 7-6, for his 12th win against four setbacks.  Senior Josh Goodman held down the No. 6 spot, coming through with a 6-2, 6-4, outcome against Aason Carey, his ninth straight and 12th victory this spring in 15 decisions.

Emory returns to action on Tuesday, April 18, when it hosts No. 26 Washington and Lee in its final home match of the regular season.
