Emory Men's Tennis Posts Senior Day Win vs. Washington & Lee

The Emory men's tennis team closed out the home portion of its regular-season schedule on Tuesday with a Senior Day triumph over Washington and Lee University.  The No. 3 Eagles won for the 10 straight time and raised their spring record to 14-2 following an 8-1 verdict over the Generals who slipped to 9-5.

Emory enjoyed a 2-1 edge after doubles with the seniors Jonathan Jemison and Adrien Bouchet winning for the eighth straight time while boosting their season record to 21-4 on the year with an 8-3 victory over Mitchell Thomas and Bobby Neuner at No. 1. For Jemison, it added to his existing school record of 99 career doubles wins.  Freshman Antonio Mora and sophomore Alex Rabinowitz came through with the Eagles' other point with an 8-5 decision against Tye Loan and John Rudden at No. 3.

Emory captured all six singles encounters, five of which came in straight sets. At first singles, Jemison won for the ninth time in his last 10 outings and upped his season slate to 19-3 following a 6-3, 7-5 outcome against Harry Shepherd. Sophomore Hayden Cassone won at No. 2, 6-4, 6-2 vs. Mitchell Thomas at No. 2, while Bouchet improved his season mark to 17-3 (10-3 at No. 3) with his 6-2, 4-6, 10-0 victory vs. Neuner. Freshman Andrew Esses landed his 10th straight win, coming away on the right side of a 6-2, 6-2 score over Noah Tapp at No. 4.  Seniors James Spaulding and George Congdon accounted for the other singles wins at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively.

Emory returns to action on Friday, Apr. 26, when it plays in the quarterfinals of the University Athletic Association Championships in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
