Emory University’s Ben Euwer recorded a career-best distance in the hammer throw, while competing at the War Eagle Invitational at Auburn University last weekend.  Euwer threw the hammer 44.03 meters, the best distance by an Eagle since the 2008 season and good for a fifth-place finish.  The sophomore also finished 13^th in the javelin throw with a distance of 45.35 meters, the second-longest mark of his career.  Euwer’s hammer throw ranks him sixth in the University Athletic Association heading into next weekend’s conference championship meet.
