Emory University’s Alex Greenhouse, Mary Crystal Spence, Brittany Donino, Lauren Attiah, and the women’s 4x100-meter relay team were selected to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, to be held in Berea, OH from May 27th-29th.

Greenhouse, the only member of the Emory men’s team to qualify, will be competing in the 400-meter hurdles.  His season-best time of 52.59 ranks him sixth among all Division III competitors this season.  The preliminaries of the event will be at 5:20 PM on Thursday, followed by the finals at 3:25 PM on Saturday.

Spence will compete in the women’s 100-meter dash, following her career-best time of 12.13 seconds in the event at the Gregory Invitational last weekend, the 18th-fastest mark by a Division III competitor this season.  The preliminaries of the event will be held at 4:40 PM on Friday, with the finals on Saturday at 2:30 PM.

After earning all-America honors with a fifth-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles during at the 2010 NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships, Donino will look for similar results in the 100-meter hurdles at the outdoor championships.  Her season-best time of 14.59 seconds ranks her 10th among all Division III competitors this season.  She will compete in the preliminaries of the event at 3:30 PM on Friday, with the finals at 1:45 PM on Saturday.

Attiah will look for the second all-America honor in the triple jump of her career, following her sixth-place finish in the event at the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships.  Her season-best jump if 11.86 meters, a school record, ranks her 10th in Division III in the event.  The preliminaries and finals of the event will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday.

Emory will also have its women’s 4x100-meter relay team of Donino, Alix Dyer, Hadiza Sa-Aadu and Spence competing at the championships.  The team’s season-best time of 47.52 seconds ranks them eighth among all DIII schools this year.  The preliminaries of the relay will be held at 3:45 PM on Thursday, with the finals at 3:25 PM on Saturday.

For all of the running events, including the relay, winners of each of the three preliminary heats will advance to the finals, in addition to the next five fastest overall times.  For the triple jump, the top nine preliminary finishers will advance to the finals, to be held immediately after.

The 2010 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships will be hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, OH.
