The Emory University track and field team will be split between
a pair of meets again this weekend, as the Eagles will take part in
both the Ole Miss Invitational in Oxford, MS and the Furman
Invitational in Grenville, SC on Saturday, April
10th.
The Emory men will enter the meet ranked fifth among all NCAA
Division III squads in the Nation, according to the latest USTFCCCA
poll. Emory seniors Greg Decker (5,000-meter
run), Alex Greenhouse (400-meter hurdles), and
Paul Winterhalter (10,000-meter run) have all
recorded NCAA provisional qualifying times during the outdoor
season.
Emory’s women are currently ranked 17th in
Division III. So far this season, senior Brittany
Donino (100-meter hurdles) and sophomore Lauren
Attiah (triple jump) have provisionally qualified for the
NCAA Championships, while Theresa Ford’s
height in the high jump and the Eagles’4x100-meter relay
team’s time are both on the cusp of qualifying.
The Ole Miss Invitational, hosted by the NCAA Division I University
of Mississippi, will begin with field events at 11:30 AM on
Saturday, while the running events will kick off at 12:30 PM.
The event will be an open competition meet, and there will be no
team scoring.
The Furman University Invitational will feature both high school
and collegiate competitors, with the collegiate events slated for a
10:40 AM start. Other colleges, besides Emory and Furman,
competing at the meet include Elon, Erskine, Spartanburg Methodist,
USC Upstate, and Wofford.
