Emory University junior Ben Euwer recorded four top-five finishes and won an event in his opening meet of the outdoor track and field season, the Emory Invitational. Euwer won the javelin throw with a distance of 52.35 meters, a personal-best mark by just under six meters. He finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 13.52 meters. Euwer also notched fifth-place finishes with a throw of 39.17 meters in the discus throw, and a distance of 43.08 meters in the hammer throw. He was the top Emory finisher in all four events he competed in at the meet.
