Emory University junior Xavier Fowler recorded a NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump, while competing at the Bob Pollock Invitational at Clemson University. Fowler jumped a career-best distance of 14.45 meters in the event, the second-best mark by a University Athletic Association (UAA) competitor this year, and .25 meters better than the provisional qualifying mark. His jump was good for a fifth-place finish at the meet.
