Emory University junior Ian Francis was the Eagles’ top finisher in both horizontal jump events at the Cardinal Opener last weekend.  Francis finished fourth (out of 24 competitors) in the long jump, reaching a distance of 6.59 meters.  He also finished fourth (out of 14 athletes) in the triple jump with a mark of 13.96 meters.  Francis rounded out the meet as the second leg of the Eagles’ eighth-place 4x400-meter relay team, which recorded a time of 3:28.43.  Francis scored 10.75 of Emory 26 points during the meet, helping the squad to a sixth-place finish.
