Emory University’s Ian Francis won the Eagles’ only individual title at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships last weekend, helping the team to a third-place finish at the meet.  Francis won the UAA Championship in the triple jump with a career-best and NCAA provisional qualifying jump of 14.30 meters, the fourth-longest triple jump in school history.  The junior also won all-UAA honors as the third leg of Emory’s second-place 4x400-meter relay team, which recorded a time of 3:26.10.  Francis also scored for the Eagles in the long jump, finishing fourth with a leap of 6.59 meters.  He accounted for 16 of Emory’s 66 points scored during the meet, helping the squad to its fifth-straight top-three finish at the UAA Indoor Championships.
