The Emory University track and field team will take to the road
for the first time of the 2011 outdoor season, as the Eagles will
head to Jacksonville State University for the Gem of the Hills
Invitational.
The meet will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, with the
field events starting at 8:00 AM, and the running events slated for
an 11:00 AM start. All events will be held at the Gamecock
Track & Field Complex on the Jacksonville State University
campus, in Jacksonville, AL.
Running events at the Gem of the Hills Invitational will include
the 3,000-meter steeplechase, 400-meter relay, 1,500-meter run,
110/100-meter hurdles, 400-meter dash, 100-meter dash, 800-meter
run, 400-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, 5,000-meter run and the
1,600-meter relay. Field events featured will be the hammer
throw, shot put, discus, long jump, high jump, pole vault, triple
jump and javelin.
There will be team scoring for the meet. Results will be
posted to EmoryAthletics.com following the completion of
competition.
