The Emory University track and field team will play host to six other conference squads this weekend, as the Eagles will battle for the 2011 University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Woodruff P.E. Center in Atlanta, GA this weekend.

The field events at the meet will kick off at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 22nd, with the running events starting at 1:00 PM.  The meet will continue on Saturday, April 23rd, with field events starting at 10:00 AM, and running events at 11:30 AM.  The championships are scheduled to end with the men’s 4x400-meter relay on Saturday at 2:30 PM.

Fans unable to attend this weekend’s meet can follow the action with a live video webcast at http://realaudio.service.emory.edu/ramgen/broadcast/ATHLETICS/UAATrack.rm.  The webcast is free to watch, and requires RealPlayer, which can be downloaded for free at real.com.  Most of the running events will be webcasted live, along with field events on the track infield (horizontal jump, high jump, javelin throw) that do not interfere with the broadcast of the running events.  There will also be live results available for fans at http://www.ptgrouponline.com/Live/2011/Emory/UAA/.

The Emory women are coming off back-to-back UAA Championships during the 2010 outdoor season and the 2011 indoor season.  The title last season was fifth in the program’s history (1990, 1993, 1994, and 1997).

The Emory men have finished third at each of the last three UAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and finished third at 2011 Indoor Championships as well.  The Eagles last won the UAA Outdoor Championship during the 2004 season, in addition to conference titles in 1996, 2001 and 2002.

Complete results and team scores will be posted to EmoryAthletics.com following the completion of each day of competition.
