In the final weekend before the 2011 University Athletic
Association (UAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Emory
University track and field team will travel to Cullowhee, NC for
the Western Carolina University Invitational on Friday, and to
Auburn, AL for the War Eagle Invitational on Friday and
Saturday.
The Western Carolina Invitational, hosted by Western Carolina
University, will kick off with the field events at 11:30 AM, and
the running events at 2:00 PM. Other competing teams at the
meet include the University of the South, Lenoir-Rhyne University,
Brevard College and UNC-Ashville.
The Eagles are scheduled to send 38 athletes to the meet (22 women
and 16 men), who will be competing in a variety of sprint, hurdle,
mid-distance, distance, jumping and throwing events.

Emory will have a considerably smaller contingent headed to the War
Eagle Invitational, as Dyer is scheduled to compete in the
200-meter dash and 400-meter dash, and Diggs will take part in the
400-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles.
