Emory University's Debora Adjibaba got the Eagles off to a strong start to the 2012-13 indoor track and field season, as the sophomore highlighted a group of strong Emory performances at the Panther Ice Breaker in Birmingham, Alabama with a school record in the 60-meter dash on Saturday.

Adjibaba set the school 60-meter dash record during the preliminaries of the event, running a time of 7.72 seconds to surpass the previous program-best mark of 7.78 seconds, set by former Eagle JamI Edwards during the 2008 season.  Adjibaba would finish 16th in the finals with a time of 7.87 seconds.

Turning in a solid performance in the women's 800-meter run was freshman Julie Williamson, who finished 11th in the event with a time of 2:20.51.  Junior Meredith Lorch was the Eagles' top performer in the 3,000-meter run with a  career-best time of 10:55.23 (good for a fifth-place finish), while junior Morgan Monroe finished 20th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.32 seconds, just over a tenth of a second short of her personal best.

Leading the way for the Eagles in the vertical jumps were sophomore Katie Wilson, who finished 15th in the high jump by clearing a height of 1.55 meters, while in the pole vault, sophomore Elaina Kim finished 16th by clearing a career-best height of 3.10 meters.  In the shot put, freshman Janay Harris made an impressive Emory debut with a throw of 10.74 meters to finish 21st.
