Eagles Finish Fourth at 2013 UAA Championships

The Emory University men's track and field team claimed another individual title and three additional all-conference honors on the second day of competition to finish fourth at the 2013 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships.

The Eagles totaled 69 points during the meet, finishing behind first-place Carnegie Mellon (139), second-place Chicago (87) and third-place Washington (78).

Both of the Eagles' individual titles during the meet were won by junior Mike Moserowitz, who came back to win the triple jump just a day after winning the long jump.  Moserowitz's triple jump of 13.69 meters edged Emory freshman Maxwell Hoberman, who finished second in the event with a mark of 13.68 meters, just a hundredth of a meter short of Moserowitz.

Moserowitz and Hoberman also made up half of the Eagles' 4x400-meter relay team, along with freshman Adam Rabushka and senior Isaac Chambers, which earned an all-UAA honor with a third-place finish in a time of 3:27.14.

Rabushka also finished third in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 50.42 seconds, rounding out Emory's all-UAA finishers on the second day.

Other scorers for the Eagles on the final day included Rabushka (8.30 seconds, fourth place) and sophomore Ankush Mohile (8.30 seconds, fifth place) in the 55-meter hurdles, sophomores Patrick Crews (1:59.69, fifth place) and Kevin Delaney (1:59.88, sixth place) in the 800-meter run, and junior Edward Mulder in the 3,000-meter run (8:42.04, fourth place).

Emory totaled two conference titles and seven all-UAA honors during the two day meet, hosted by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Eagles will now begin preparing for the NCAA Championships, taking part in a last chance meet next weekend.  Dates and times of the last chance meets the Eagles are attending will be posted to EmoryAthletics.com later in the week.
