Seigel Named UAA Field Athlete of the Week

Emory University freshman Jacob Seigel was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for Track and Field, based on his performance in a pair of throwing events at the Terrier Relays in Spartanburg, SC last Saturday.

Seigel was the top Division III finisher and seventh overall in the discus throw, recording a distance of 44.02 meters, tied for the seventh-best mark in the event in school history.  The throw also ranks third among University Athletic Association (UAA) competitors this season.  He was the top Division III finisher in the shot put as well, recording a throw of 12.18 meters to place 16th overall.

This was the first conference athlete of the week honor of Seigel's career.  The Eagles will be back in action this week, taking part in the Sea Ray Relays, the Furman Blue Shoes Invitational, and the JCSU Invitational.
