The Emory University Track and Field teams will travel to New York City this weekend for the 2013 University Athletic Association Outdoor Championships, hosted by New York University at Icahn Stadium.

The meet is scheduled for a 9:00 AM start on Saturday, April 27th, with first-day events continuing through 3:30 PM.  Action on the second day will begin at 9:00 AM as well, with the meet scheduled to conclude with the awards ceremony at 1:20 PM.

Fans unable to attend the meet can follow the action with live results and live video (of both the track events and the field events).  The links to the results and video are available at the top of the release and on EmoryAthletics.com.

The Emory University women will enter the meet as the highest-ranked UAA squad, as the Eagles moved up to sixth in the latest USTFCCCA Division III poll.  Washington University (Mo.) is the only other ranked team, currently placing 17th in the poll.  Emory will be looking for its fourth-straight UAA Women's Outdoor Championship and eighth overall.  The Eagles are also coming off a win at the 2013 UAA Indoor Championships.

Entering the meet, the Emory women have the top-performing UAA athletes in 2013 in the 100-meter dash (Debora Adjibaba), 200-meter dash (Adjibaba), 400-meter dash (Kaele Leonard), 100-meter hurdles (Morgan Monroe), 4x100-meter relay, 4x400-meter relay, High Jump (Theresa Ford), and Discus Throw (Ford).

Meanwhile, the Emory men will enter the meet looking to improve on their fifth-place finish at last year's UAA Outdoor Championships and the fourth-place finish at the UAA Indoor Championships in February.  The Eagles have won four UAA Outdoor Titles, with the last coming during the 2004 season.

The Emory men's squad features the UAA's top performer in the 400-meter hurdles (Adam Rabushka) and high jump (Brandon Bassell), the second-best performers in the 110-meter hurdles (Ankush Mohile), javelin throw (James Bassen), and long jump (Mike Moserowitz), and the third-best performers in the 1,500-meter run (Stephen Ellwood), discus throw (Jacob Seigel), 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay.

A full recap and results from the UAA Championships will be posted to EmoryAthletics.com after each day of competition is completed.
