Emory University junior James Bassen recorded a pair of season-best throws at the Blue Shoes Collegiate Track and Field Meet, hosted by Furman University in Greenville, SC on Saturday.  Bassen was the runner-up in the javelin throw at the meet, recording a distance of 54.28 meters.  The mark was the best this season by a University Athletic Association (UAA) athlete, and ranks 45^th among all NCAA Division III throwers this season.  He added a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 36.70 meters, the 12^th-best mark in the UAA in 2014.
