Emory University sophomore Jacob Seigel recorded a personal-best throw in the shot put during the Emory Invitational last weekend, the opening meet of the 2014 outdoor season for the Eagles.  Seigel’s throw of 12.60 meters was good for a ninth-place finish, and was a .04 meter improvement on his previous outdoor career-best mark.  He also finished eighth in the discus throw with a toss of 41.75 meters, the 35^th-best mark in Division III this season.  Seigel’s performance helped lead the Eagles to a third-place finish out of 23 teams at the meet.
