Hoberman & Wilson Receive UAA Field Athlete of the Week Honors

Emory University junior Maxwell Hoberman and senior Katie Wilson were named the University Athletic Association Field Athletes of the Week, after each won an event at the Emory Classic in Atlanta, Georgia last weekend.

Hoberman won the triple jump, finishing first with a leap of 13.45 meters, the best by a UAA competitor this season, and the 15th-best in Division III this season.  He added a 13th-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.17 meters, the fifth-best in the UAA in 2015, and finished fifth as the second leg of the Eagles' 4x100-meter relay with a time of 42.88 seconds.

Hoberman totaled 11 points during the meet, helping the men finish first out of 22 scoring teams at the Emory Classic.  This was his first Athlete of the Week honor of the season and the fourth of his career.

Wilson claimed a win in the high jump for the second-straight meet, clearing the bar at a height of 1.59 meters, the best mark by a UAA competitor this season and the 14th-best height cleared by a Division III athlete in 2015.

Wilson's event win contributed 10 points towards the Eagles' team total, as women finished second out of 24 scoring teams at the meet.  This was her first career conference Athlete of the Week honor.

Emory will be back in action this weekend, traveling to High Point, North Carolina for the VertKlasse Meeting.
