Emory University junior Julie Williamson highlighted a number of strong Eagle performances at the Georgia Invitational in Athens on Saturday, recording the second-fastest women's 800-meter run time in the program's history.
Williamson's time of 2:12.45 was a 1.24-second improvement on her previous career-best mark, and was second in school history only to Katherine Marshall's program record of 2:11.99, set at the 1990 NCAA Championships. The mark ranked as the 28th-fastest in Division III this season, and was good for a ninth-place finish in the event at the meet.
Senior Marissa Gogniat added a personal-record in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:41.03, the third-fastest mark in school history. She placed eighth in the race at the Georgia Invitational.
For the men, junior Adam Rabushka improved on his personal-best time, while finishing seventh in the men's 400-meter hurdles. His mark of 53.40 seconds ranks as the 16th-fastest in Division III this year.
Rabushka also joined senior Zachary Rosenberg, junior Spencer Koh and freshman Daniel Pietsch on the Eagles' third-place 4x400-meter relay team, which recorded a time of 3:15.55, the ninth-fastest time in the program's history. The relay now ranks 23rd among Division III squads in the event.
Senior Kevin Delaney added a career-best time of 1:55.81 in the 800-meter run, placing 19th in the event.
Emory is slated to continue its final stretch of the season at the Gregory Invitational in Naperville, Illinois next week.
