14 Eagles in Action at Dr. Keeler Invite and Aggie Last Chance Meet

The Emory University track & field teams continue the final stretch of the outdoor season with a pair of meets this weekend in preparation for the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.

14 Eagles in hopes of improving their times will be in competition split across two meets with five traveling to Naperville, IL for the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College and the other nine heading to Greensboro, N.C. for the Aggie Last Chance at North Carolina A&T University. The Dr. Keeler Invite will take place on Thursday, May 12th and Friday, May 13th and the Aggie Last Chance Meet being held on Sunday, May 15th.

Sophomore Shane Sullivan and freshman Amanda Martin kick things off on Thursday in Naperville with the 5000m Run at 6:00 PM with seniors Julie Williamson (800m Run), Lukas Mees (3000m Steeplechase) and sophomore Gabrielle Stravach (1500m Run) closing out the meet on Friday. Williamson sits 21st nationally in the 800m Run coming off her school-record setting performance last week in the Kentucky Relays (2:11.87) while Mees is 23rd in the country in the 3000m Steeplechase with his UAA Championship time of 9:17.90.

On Sunday, junior Ian McIsaac and sophomore Daniel Pietsch will represent the men's team with senior Alexandra Aiello, sophomores Erica Goldman and Julia Leventhal and freshmen Dani Bland, Hayley MoyerAriana Newhouse and Dilys Osei scheduled to run for the women.

Pietsch and McIsaac are both slated to race in the 200m and 400m Dash events. Pietsch looks to build upon his nationally ranked times in both events, 5th in the 400m (47.50) and 23rd in the 200m (21.63), while McIsaac is fresh off a personal-best showing in the 200m (22.89) at last week's Kentucky Relays.

On the women's side, Goldman, Moyer and Newhouse will take part in both the 200m and 400m Dash in Greensboro. Newhouse and Goldman enter competition occupying spots nationally in the top-10 in the 400m event with Newhouse in 9th (55.71) and Goldman in 10th (55.81). Newhouse also checks into the top-50 in the 200m event at 46th with a time of 25.18.

The 4x100 foursome of Osei, Leventhal, Aiello and Bland will be the lone relay team in action over the weekend and find themselves 15th in Division III at 47.83 before Thursday. All four sprinters will run in the 100m and 200m Dash events as well on Sunday with Bland leading the Eagles in both events, ranked 20th in the 100m (12.16) and 43rd in the 200m (24.15).

Live results will be made available through both NC Central and North Carolina A&T respective athletic websites.

Results and a meet recap of Emory performances at both venues will be posted to emoryathletics.com at the conclusion of competition on Friday and Sunday.
