Results
The Emory University men's cross country team, ranked 12th in the
nation, claimed first place out of seven teams at the Jacksonville
State University Foothills Invitational. The event was held
at the Oxford Lake and Recreation Center in Oxford, Alabama.
The Eagles registered 17 points and were followed by
Alabama-Huntsville's 64 points. West Alabama captured third
place (89 pts.) while Morehouse recorded 106 points, good for the
fourth position.
Emory senior Tommy Fyffe paced the 74-runner field, covering the 8K
course in a time of 24:34. Senior Paul Winterhalter clocked
in at 24:55, good for third place and senior Charlie Meade was
right behind him with a performance of 24:59. Rounding out
the team's scorers were senior Alex Robin (7th, 25:47)
and Barri Levinson (9th, 26:06).
Emory returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 17, when it competes at
the Quaker Invitational in Greensboro, NC.
