Freshman Lukas Mees helped Emory to a first-place finish out of nine teams at the Gulf Coast Stampede held in Pensacoloa, Fla., and hosted by the University of West Florida.  Mees topped the Eagles' contingent and placed fourth out of 93 entries with a season-best 8K time of 26:31.  Mees one of three Emory runners to rank among the top 10 finishers in the competition. 

It was the first time this year that Mees had been the first Emory runner to cross the finish line and his third conseuctive meet with a finish of second or better.
