After a week off from competition, the Emory University men's and
women's cross country teams resume action on Saturday (Oct. 19)
when they take part in the sixth annual Oberlin College
Inter-Regional Rumble. The meet will be held at the Oberlin
College Cross Country Trail with the women’s 6k race slated
for an 11:00 a.m., start followed by the men’s 8k at
approximately 11:45 a.m.
At least 32 teams will be represented in both the men’s and women’s races. Seven of the women’s squads hitting the course are ranked nationally including University Athletic Association foes Chicago (No. 6), New York University (No. 15), Case Western (No. 27) and Rochester (No. 28). No. 10 SUNY-Geneseo and No. 11 Oberlin are other prominently ranked women’s programs competing.
As for the men, four ranked teams are part of the field including No. 6 NYU and No. 31 Rochester. SUNY-Geneseo (No. 19) and Allegheny (No. 20) are the other programs who garnered slots in this week’s national poll.
In Emory’s most recent outing, the men registered a fourth-place finish out of 26 teams and the women seventh out of 26 at the Greater Louisville Classic on Oct. 5.
