Freshman designated player Moira Sullivan swung
a big bat in helping the No. 1-ranked Eagles to four
victories. Sullivan hit a team-leading .636 with seven hits
in 11 trips to the plate. She also tied for the club’s
lead with eight RBIs while finishing with a .818 slugging
percentage.
She hit safely and drove in runs in all four games as the Eagles
closed out the regular season with a won-lost ledger of 33-3. She
went a combined 3-for-6 at the plate with three runs scored and
three RBIs in a 12-4, (5 inn.), 8-0 (5 inn.) doubleheader sweep
against Piedmont before going 4-for-5 with five RBIs in 11-2 (5
in.) and 8-0 (6 inn.) wins over Covenant College. In the
finale against Covenant, she went 3-for-3 with three RBIs including
a two-run double.
