Tara Fallahee

Tara Fallahee

Tara Fallahee helped the No. 9-ranked Emory softball team  to a 4-2 mark over a six-game stretch.

Fallahee started all six contests ( four as designated player, two at third base) and hit .444 with a team-high tying eight hits in 18 trips to plate.  Fallahee scored six runs and knocked in eight runs, with both marks second high on the squad, as Emory closed out the week with an overall record of 26-4.  Included in her offensive totals were three doubles and a home run.

She went a combined 5-of-7 at the plate with five RBIs and four runs scored in a doubleheader sweep over Covenant College and came through with what proved to be the game-winning RBIs in both games.  After collecting three hits in four at bats in the opener vs. the Lady Scots, Fallahee hit safely on two occasions and produced four RBIs in a 9-1 triumph in the finale.  After doubling in Emory's first two runs as part of a five-run third inning,  Fallahee later socked a two-run homer, her fourth round tripper of the season, in the sixth that closed out Emory's scoring.    In a 5-1 second-game win over Berry College, Fallahee drew a pair of base-on-balls and scored twice.  She helped Emory to a 5-2 win over Birmingham Southern in the first game of a twinbill on Saturday, going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs.  Her double in the bottom of the fifth snapped a 2-2 deadlock and allowed the eventual winning run to cross the plate.   The following frame, her two-out, two-run single scored two more runs.

On the year, Fallahee is hitting .374 (34-of-91) and is second on the club with 30 RBIs.
