(March 2) - Two players from Emory University received end-of-the-season recognition from the University Athletic Association. Senior Stephanie Seibert was named to the all-UAA second team while freshman Beth Bergmann received honorable mention.

Seibert recorded nine "double doubles" for the season. Only four Emory players have had more "double doubles" in a season. Seibert started in all 25 games and led the team in points per game (12.5), rebounds per game (9.3), and blocks per game (1.0). She led the UAA in rebounds and was second in blocked shots in conference games. Seibert was named to the all-UAA second team in 2001, all-UAA first team in 2002, and received honorable mention in 2003.

Bergmann averaged a team high of 31.6 minutes per game during her first season. She also led the team in three point field goals made, assists, and steals. Bergmann ranked second among her teammates in points per game (11.6). She ranked second in the conference in free throw percentage (86.1 percent) in UAA games.

(Feb. 28) - Emory University came up short in its season finale, a 55-52 loss at Case Western Reserve University (Ohio).

Lynn Oberschmidt had a team-high 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Stephanie Seibert tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds.

This is the ninth "double double" this season for Seibert. Only four Emory players--Mary Dick (1989-90, 1990-91), Ashley Gordon (1994-95), Alicia Moore (1995-96, 1996-97), and Angela Wamer (1989-90)--have had more "double doubles" in a season.

Emory made three of five free throws, good enough to set a school record for best season percentage at .740, breaking the mark of .739 set last season. In the last seven seasons, the team's free throw percentage has improved from .623 to .624 to .674 to .689 to .710 to .739 and now .740.

The game marked the collegiate farewell to graduating seniors Beth Byron and Stephanie Seibert.

(Feb. 24) - Emory University defeated LaGrange College (GA) on the road by a score of 76-63.

Beth Bergmann scored a career high 28 points while pulling down five rebounds. She surpassed her previous high of 24 points against New York University on February 8, 2004. Bergmann ranks second on the team in scoring with 11.9 points per game.

Stephanie Seibert recorded her eighth "double double" for the season by scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Seibert continues to lead the team in both scoring and rebounding.

Beth Byron contributed 14 points.

(Feb. 22) - Stephanie Seibert had a "double double" against the No. 15 team in the nation, a 56-43 loss at University of Rochester (N.Y.).

Seibert scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her seventh "double double" of the season, 10th of her career. She becomes the ninth Eagle ever with that many "double doubles" in a season. [The school season record for "double doubles" is 16 by Angela Wamer in the 1989-90 season.]

Lynn Oberschmidt contributed 10 points.

(Feb. 20) - Emory University picked up a road win with a 60-47 victory at Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.).

Lynn Oberschmidt pulled down 16 rebounds, tying the season high by any Eagle. Stephanie Seibert had 16 boards against Wesleyan Nov. 25.

Today, Seibert scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds. It was her third 20-point game of the season, all in the last four games.

Beth Bergmann contributed with 14 points, six assists and four steals.

(Feb. 17) - In the home finale, Stephanie Seibert had a "double double" as the Eagles lost 77-75 to Oglethorpe University (Ga.).

Seibert scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. It was her sixth "double double" of the season.

The 21 points tied Seibert's season high set last Friday against Chicago. It also moved her into second place on the school's all-time list for career points. She surpassed Alicia Moore who had 1,264 points from 1994-98.

Beth Bergmann scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field. Lynn Oberschmidt added 16 points.

This is the second time this season that the Eagles had three players with at least 15 points in a game. The other also was against Oglethorpe on Dec. 3.

Emory shot 48.3 percent from the field, its second-best mark of the season, equaling its mark from the Chicago game last Friday. Its best shooting performance this season is an even 50.0 percent against Oglethorpe last Dec. 3.

Emory dished out a season-high 17 assists. Seibert led the team with four helpers.

(Feb. 15) - Emory University lost to Washington University (Mo.), the eighth-ranked team in the nation, by a score of 71-47.

For the Eagles, Katie Bergfeld, a Missouri native, had season-highs in both points and rebounds, scoring nine and picking up seven boards. In Emory's last game against Washington University on January 16th, she scored eight points and gathered seven rebounds.

Freshman Beth Bergmann added 14 points for the Eagles. Bergmann has now scored in double digits in 12 of the 20 Eagle games this season, including five of the last six games. For the season, Bergmann is averaging 11.1 points per game.

(Feb. 13) - Friday the 13th proved good luck for Emory University as it defeated University of Chicago, 74-67.

Stephanie Seibert scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds. She is eight points away from second place on the school's all-time list for career points. Ahead of her is Alicia Moore (1994-98) with 1,264 points.

Lynn Oberschmidt tallied 16 points to go with six boards and three assists. Beth Bergmann added 12 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Emory shot 51.9 percent from the field in the second half.

(Feb. 8) - Beth Bergmann scored a career-high 24 points as Emory University fell 69-56 to New York University, ranked No. 15 in the nation by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

Bergmann made eight of 15 field goal attempts, three of six from three-point range, and five of six free throws. She added six rebounds and three assists.

Bergmann's previous high was 19 points against Wesleyan (Ga.) Nov. 25 this season. She is the first Eagle, other than Lynn Oberschmidt, to score 20 in a game this season.

Stephanie Seibert contributed 13 points and 13 rebounds, her fifth "double double" of the season. This is the seventh time she has pulled down 10 or more rebounds in a game this season. Seibert moved into fifth place on the school's all-time list for career rebounds.

(Feb. 6) - Emory University lost at Brandeis University (Mass.), 70-47.

Lynn Oberschmidt scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds with three assists and three blocks.

Stephanie Seibert added nine points and five rebounds. She moved into third place on the school's all-time scoring list for career points.

Beth Bergmann had eight points and Kelly Kristal had four assists. The Eagles trailed 33-25 at halftime.

(Feb. 1) - Stephanie Seibert recorded her fourth "double double" of the season in a 72-46 loss to Brandeis University (Mass.).

Seibert scored 15 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. She moved within seven points of tying for third place on the school's all-time career scoring list.

Beth Bergmann added 10 points for the Eagles. Lynn Oberschmidt had a team-high five assists to go with seven points and six rebounds.

Emory outrebounded the visitors, 41-35. This was the sixth time this season the Eagles had the rebounding edge.

Emory trailed by four, 34-30, with 2:04 remaining in the first half.

(Jan. 30) - Stephanie Seibert tallied 17 points but Emory University fell to New York University, 76-62.

Emory led by one, 31-30, with 4:18 remaining in the first half and trailed by four, 59-55, with 8:03 left in the ballgame.

New York was listed among those receiving votes in this week's national top 25 rankings by D3hoops.com.

Seibert was 6-for-10 from the field and added nine rebounds. Seibert moved into second place on the school's all-time list for career field goals and seventh in career rebounds.

Beth Bergmann contributed 13 points and Kelly Kristal had a season-high 11 points. Lynn Oberschmidt had nine points and eight rebounds.

(Jan. 25) - Lynn Oberschmidt scored 17 points to help Emory University to its first conference win of the season, 69-43 against Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.).

Oberschmidt shot 8-of-12 from the field and grabbed six rebounds. Stephanie Seibert had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Off the bench, Emory got contributions from Caroline Davis and Katie Bergfeld. Davis had nine points, two assists and two blocks in 12 minutes. Bergfeld had five points, six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals in 14 minutes.

For the second time this season, the Eagles had more assists (15) than turnovers (14).

(Jan. 23) - Emory University lost to the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, University of Rochester (N.Y.), 62-30.

The visitors, ranked first nationally by D3hoops.com, improved their record to 15-0.

Beth Bergmann had eight points and four assists for the Eagles. Lynn Oberschmidt contributed eight rebounds and three steals.

(Jan. 18) - Emory University shot 50 percent in the second half but it was not enough in a 66-51 loss at University of Chicago.

Beth Bergmann was the Eagles' high scorer with 14 points. This is the fourth time this season she has been the team's high scorer.

Bergmann was 5-of-11 from the field, 2-of-3 from three-point range, and 2-of-2 at the free throw line. She added three assists and three steals.

For the fourth time this season, Emory outrebounded its opponent, this time 29-25.

The Eagles were 15 of 30 from the field in the second half. They got within two points, 39-37, with 9:29 left in the contest.

(Jan. 16) - Washington University (Mo.), ranked No. 7 in the nation by D3hoops.com, beat Emory University, 87-47.

Stephanie Seibert scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. Katie Bergfeld added eight points and seven rebounds in 16 minutes.

Emory sank 19 of 28 free throws. The team has made 77.4 percent this season, ahead of the school record of 73.9 percent, set last season.

(Jan. 12) - Lynn Oberschmidt tallied 20 points in a 71-69 loss at Piedmont College (Ga.).

Obserschmidt added five rebounds and four assists. She contributed to the Eagles' 15 assists, one shy of its season high.

Oberschmidt made all eight of her free throws. Emory converted 17 of 19 free throws for a season high 89.5 percent.

Stephanie Seibert scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

(Jan. 10)  - Beth Bergmann came off the bench to score 14 points but it was not enough as Emory University dropped its conference opener, 54-45 to Case Western Reserve University (Ohio).

The Eagles shot 42 percent in the first half for a 24-20 lead at the intermission. Emory trailed by one with five minutes left before the visitors pulled away.

Stephnaie Seibert pulled down 12 rebounds to go along with her six points.

(Jan. 5) -  Emory University had a second-half lead against a national top-20 team before losing to Johns Hopkins University (Md.), 66-46.

The Eagles led 33-31 four minutes into the second half against a team ranked No. 15 in the nation by D3hoops.com. Hopkins then ran off a 20-4 streak in the next eight minutes.

Stephanie Seibert recorded her third "double double" of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The 19 points tied her season high set against Oglethorpe Dec. 3.

Beth Bergmann added 10 points for the Eagles.

(Dec. 9) - Lynn Oberschmidt scored 12 points, including a pair of crucial free throws to help Emory University defeat University of the South (Tenn.), 53-49.

Emory had a two-point lead, 51-49, with the shot clock winding down and less than 20 seconds to play. Oberschmidt was isolated on the wing from where she drove to the basket, drawing a foul and two free throws. She sank both with six seconds left to put the game out of reach.

Beth Bergmann came off the bench to add 12 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line.

Emory made 12 of 15 free throws (.800) in the contest.

The Eagles improve to 5-2 in their last game of the calendar year.

(Dec. 6) - Emory University's two-game win streak ended with a 64-45 loss against Piedmont College (Ga.).

Lynn Oberschmidt led the way for the Eagles, shooting eight of 12 from the field and scoring 18 points. The sophomore has now scored in double digits in each of the Eagles' first six games. Oberschmidt also added seven rebounds.

Stephanie Seibert added eight points and ten rebounds, just missing her second straight "double double" by two points. Seibert also blocked two Piedmont shots, the second highest total by an Eagle this season.

Emory's record fell to 4-2 on the season.

(Dec. 4) - Stephanie Seibert has been named to the national "Team of the Week" by D3hoops.com.

Seibert averaged a "double double" last week with 13.6 points and 11 rebounds per game. She helped Emory win both games.

Every week, D3hoops.com honors five players nationally in NCAA Division III.

(Dec. 3) - Emory University defeated Oglethorpe (GA) on the road with a final score of 85-68.

Lynn Oberschmidt led the team in scoring with 22 points. Stephanie Seibert scored 19 points and led the team in rebounding with a total of 15.

Alex Breedlove contributed 15 points, while Susan Lippert scored 11 and Beth Bergmann scored 8.

Emory improves its record to 4-1 this season.

(Nov. 30) -  Emory University won the consolation game of the Thomas More Tournament, 53-50 against Centre College (Ky.).

Lynn Oberschmidt was named to the all-tournament team. She had 13 points and seven rebounds today to go along with her 10 points and five rebounds yesterday.

Beth Bergmann added 10 points, Beth Byron nine, and Stephanie Seibert and Susan Lippert, seven apiece.

The contest was tied eight times with 13 lead changes.

Emory improves its record to 3-1 this season.

(Nov. 29) - Stephanie Seibert narrowly missed her second consecutive "double double" as Emory University lost to Westminster College (Pa.), 73-59, in the Thomas More Tournament.

Seibert led all players with 16 points and added nine rebounds. Beth Byron chipped in with 13 points and Lynn Oberschmidt 10.

The Eagles made 10 of 12 free throws (83.3 percent). Emory has shot 78 percent or better at the line in each of its three games this season.

(Nov. 25) - Emory University won its home opener, 70-62 against Wesleyan College (Ga.), thanks to a "double double" from Stephanie Seibert.

The senior tallied 18 points and 16 rebounds for the fourth "double double" of her career. Seibert's previous three were last season, the latest being a 14-point, 11-rebound performance Feb. 2 against Rochester (N.Y.).

Beth Bergmann was the high scorer for Emory with 19 points. She was 4-for-8 from the field and 8-for-8 at the free throw line.

Lynn Oberschmidt added 13 points for the Eagles who improved to 2-0. Emory converted 16 of 17 free throws in the second half.

(Nov. 22) - Emory University opened its season with a 63-54 win at the University of the South (Tenn.).

Lynn Oberschmidt recorded a "double double" with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Beth Bergmann added 11 points for the Eagles.

Emory converted 22 of 25 free throws.The win is the first for Christy Thomaskutty as Emory head coach.
