Savannah Morgan To Participate In Prestigious WBCA Program

Emory women's basketball assistant coach Savannah Morgan will be among 61 participants in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) "So You Want To Be a Coach" program.  Each member will participate in the three-day workshop held March 29-31 in conjunction with the WBCA Convention in Dallas.

One of 13 coaches from the Division III ranks to secure an invitation, Morgan will learn from coaches and administrators, and take advantage of networking opportunities deigned to assist participants in securing a coaching positions as their careers develop.

"We continue to invest in young, aspiring coaches through our 'So You Want To Be A Coach' program," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "Each year, the WBCA family reinforces our support for this important entry-level program. We have high expectations for these graduating student-athletes and the future contributions they will make to the game of women's basketball."

In her first year on the staff, Morgan enjoyed a fine four-year career (2010-11 through 2013-14) at Emory, playing in a school record 103 games and winding up in the No. 1 position on the program's all-time chart in both assists and assists per game.  After graduating, she played professionally overseas for a couple of years before assuming her current post.
