15 Emory Eagles, 10 days, 4 cities, 2 flights, and too many chocolate churros to count – Our trip to Spain was full of sights, culture, tapas, and of course, basketball! Looking back on our trip, we had some great experiences, but each city gave us something special. During our first 4 days in Madrid, we loved immersing ourselves in the Spanish culture with a tapas bar crawl and walking through the streets of old town Madrid. We took a step into the past by heading to Toledo, the old world capital of Spain. In Barcelona we were awestruck with breathtaking views of the city surrounded by mountains on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other. Finally, Sitges gave us a perfect final day with our team to relax in the sun in a classic European beach town.

As the most recent alumni of the program, we were grateful for the opportunity to represent Emory one last time and enjoy the company of our teammates before saying goodbye. The excursions and tours were incredible, but our favorite part was watching our young teammates grow closer and more independent in anticipation of their coming season. We couldn't have asked for any better way to finish our college basketball careers, and it was the perfect way to start the next step of our lives.
