NCAA BOUND!! -- Emory Women's Basketball Earns NCAA Tourney Bid -- Battles Trine University At Thomas More University

NCAA D-III Women's Bracket

The Emory women's basketball team will be travelling to Crestview Hills, Kentucky, and the campus of Thomas More University for the opening rounds of the NCAA D-III Tournament.

The Eagles, 19-6 on the season, will battle Trine University (25-2) of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in first-round action on Friday (Mar. 1) at a time to be determined.

The other first-round match-up sees host and No. 1-ranked Thomas More (27-0) entertain Saint Vincent (23-4). The two winners then move into Saturday's second round.  The Connor Convocation Center on the TMC campus will serve as the venue for the opening rounds.

The Eagles of head coach Misha Jackson were one of 21 programs to receive an at-large bid to the postseason after compiling a regular-season ledger of 19-6 including a 10-4 effort in the league that was good for a second-place tie.  Emory will be making its fourth-ever trip and first since 2013 to the NCAA Tournament.

The Thunder of Trine, led by Head Coach Andy Rang, earned an automatic bid to this weekend's action after winning their second MIAA Tournament Championship in three seasons, topping Hope in double overtime, 70-65.

Friday's contest will mark the first meeting between Emory and Trine in women's basketball.
