The Emory University women's golf team wrapped up its second round of action at the Golfweek Invitational on Saturday. The 54-hole tournament is being played on the 5.800-yard, par-72 El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Resort in Howie-in-the Hills, Florida.
The Eagles recorded a score of 321 and stand in fourth place out of eight teams with a mark of 647. No. 25 Centre holds down the top spot of 632 (317-315) while Carnegie Mellon is seven shots off the pace at 639 (322-317--639). No. 2-ranked Methodist is third at 645 (329-316).
Freshman Jessica Lan led the Emory effort on Saturday with a seven-over par 79. Sophomore Ksheera Jalakam and freshman Mariana Chong each shot an 80 while sophomore Shriya Agarwal closed out the scoring with an 82. Freshman Rebecca Schiffman posted a score of 83.
Through 36 holes Chong is tied for seventh in the 40-player field at 159 (79-80) while Lan (81-79) and Jalakam (80-80) are tied at 160.
Jillian Drinkard of Methodist continues to lead the field at 151 (74-77).
The final round of the Golfweek Invitational will be held on Sunday.
