Women's Golf Earns Second Tournament Win at DIII Golfweek Invite

The Emory University women's golf team extended their lead in the final round at the DIII Golfweek Invite to win their second tournament of the season. The tournament was played at the 5,601-yard, par-72 Baytowne Golf Club course.

The No. 4 ranked Eagles carded a 295 in the third and final round of play to bring their 54-hole total to 874 (294-285-295). The Eagles three round total of 874 is the second best 54-hole score in program history. Finishing in second place was No. 2 WashU who notched an 886 (300-289-297) and rounding out the podium was No. 6 Carnegie Mellon whose three day total equaled 899 (297-294-308). 

Sophomore Sharon Mun tallied a third round score of 70 bringing her 54-hole total to 210 (71-69-70) to help her win her second tournament as an individual this season. Mun was the model of consistency all tournament, finishing with the second most pars at 42 while also tying for the best score on all par-5 holes at -4. Sophomore Ellen Dong had a strong tournament of her own registering a 217 (71-72-74) to tie for fourth overall. Freshman Katie Park recorded her first top ten finish of her career, tying for tenth with a three day total of 224 (77-72-75). Junior Mariana Chong and freshman Kiley Malmberg closed the tournament tied for 21st after each posting a score of 228. 

The Eagles have concluded play for the duration of the fall semester and will be back in action in the Spring as they pursue their goal of bringing home another national championship.
