Women's Golf Travels West for Patriot Invitational

The Emory University women's golf team traveled out West to take part in the Patriot Invitational where they are facing off against primarily Division II competition and after two rounds they sit in eighth place with a score of 612. The 54-hole tournament is being played on the 5,930-yard, par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Club Course in Carmel, California.

The No. 1 ranked Eagles scored a 307 in the first round of action before rounding out the day with a 305 in the second round to bring their first day total to 612. Leading the tournament with a score of 578 (294-284) is Cal State Eastbay while Dallas Baptist University (291-288) and Dartmouth College (291-289) round out the remainder of the podium. 

Sophomore Sharon Mun leads the Eagles through two-rounds of play having carded a 148 (72-76) which places her in a tie for 15th. Junior Irene Wang followed up Mun by a single stroke having tallied a two-round score of seven-over par 149 (76-73) which sees her in sole possession of 19th place. Sophomore Ellen Dong was rock-solid for the Eagles as her two-round total of 154 (79-75) places her in a tie for 32nd. Freshmen Katie Park (T-58th) and Cindy Wang (T-60th) rounded out scoring for the Eagles as the posted two-round scores of 161 and 162, respectively.

The Eagles return to the greens tomorrow for the final round of action at the Patriot Invitational with Emory set to get underway at 12:00 PM Eastern time.
