The Emory University women's golf team registered the best third round score at the Patriot Invitational to move up into sixth place at tournament's end on Tuesday afternoon. The 54-hole tournament was played on the 5,930-yard, par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Club Course in Carmel, California.

The No. 1 ranked Eagles closed out the Patriot Invitational on a high note having the best third round in the field of 15 teams with a score of 304 to bring their 54-hole total to 916 (307-305-304) which placed them in sixth at tournament's end. In the field of primarily Division II teams, Dartmouth College emerged victorious posting a tournament-best 886 (291-286-306) to win the tournament by three strokes. Rounding out the podium were Dallas Baptist University (889) and Cal State East Bay (892). 

Sophomore Sharon Mun finished the tournament with the best score amongst the Eagles contingent, carding a 222 (72-76-74) to finish in a tie for tenth continuing her four-tournament streak of top ten finishes. Junior Irene Wang had one of her best tournaments of the season finishing in sole possession of 14th place as she notched a score of 224 (76-73-75). Freshman Cindy Wang finished third for the Eagles in the third and final round of play as she registered a 76 to bring her three-round total to 238 (81-81-76) and finish in 41st place. Sophomore Ellen Dong finished the invitational knotted up in 31st place as she recorded a 54-hole score of 233 (79-75-79). Rounding out scoring for the Eagles was freshman Katie Park who logged a score of 241 (80-81-80) to finish tied for 47th. Competing as an individual, junior Mariana Chong recorded a two-round score of 167 (78-89) for the Eagles. 

The Eagles will return to the greens the weekend of April 3 and 4 for the Stith Invitational in Glen Valley, Virginia on the Dominion Club golf course.
