The Emory University women's golf team traveled north to take part in the Max and Susan Stith Invitational and after the first round they are tied for first with a score of 299. The 36-hole tournament is being played on the 5,600-yard, par-72 Dominion Club Golf Course in Glen Allen, Virginia
After the first round of play, the No. 1 ranked Eagles sit tied for first place with No. 9 ranked Methodist University rounding out the day with a 299.
Freshman Cindy Wang leads the Eagles through the first round of play tallying a 72 placing her in a tie for third place. Sophomore Sharon Mun followed by a single stroke putting her in a tie for fifth overall. Sophomore Ellen Dong has also been strong for Emory in the first round shooting a 76 placing her in a tie for 12th. Junior Irene Wang and Freshman Katie Park rounded out the day for the Eagles with a 78 and 84, respectively.
Emory will return to the greens tomorrow to finish the final round of action at the Stith Invitational on Tuesday morning.
