The Emory University women's soccer team defeated Agnes Scott
College by a ascore of 3-0 on Wednesday, giving the Eagles their
first win of the season.
Emory improved to 1-1-2 on the season with the win, while Agnes
Scott dropped to 1-3-0 with the loss.
Freshman Erica Stein recorded the complete-game
shutout in goal, turning away both shots she faced during the
game. It was the collegiate debut for the freshman.
Emory notched their first goal in the 15th minute, as
Meghan McMahon scored her second goal of the
season off assists from Melanie Levy and
Hailey Morris.
The Eagles added to their lead less than three minutes later, as
senior Olivia Lezanski scored her first goal of
the season off a corner kick from Talia
Dweck. Freshman Lee Bachouros would
cement the lead in the second half with her first collegiate goal
on a long shot in the 71st minute.
After scoring just one goal in their first two games of the
campaign, the Eagles have now combined for four goals in their last
two contests.
Emory will continue their season on Saturday, as the Eagles will
face Transylvania University at the Smart Women Sweat Challenge at
Agnes Scott College at 1:00 PM.
