Emory University will make the trip across town to Oglethorpe
University for the second time this season, as the Eagles and the
Stormy Petrels will meet in a make-up of a game that was rained out
earlier in the season.
The match will be started from the beginning of the contest, after
the original game, which was started on September 16th,
was halted with 30:52 left in the second half due to heavy rain and
lightning. At the time, the Eagles' led 4-0, off a pair of
goals from each of Melanie Levy and
Merrill Bachouros. However, none of the
goals or the result from the original match counted towards Emory's
season record or statistics.
Emory will enter the contest with a record of 5-5-5 on the season,
following a 2-1 win over Case Western Reserve University on
Sunday. Emory is 4-4-1 in matches away from the Woodruff P.E.
Center this season, and 3-4-0 in true road matches.
Oglethorpe currently stands at 5-10-0 on the season, with a 2-6-0
record at home. Emory defeated Oglethorpe 4-0 in their 2008
meeting, and juniors Melanie Levy and Lauren Smith each have a
career goal against the Stormy Petrels.
Emory Notes:
Emory freshman Lee Bachouros was named the
University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Athlete of the Week
for women's soccer, based on her performance during the Eagles' two
conference games last week... Emory's Talia Dweck
is one assist shy of breaking the program's single season record...
Freshman goalkeeper Erica Stein has started each
of the last two games for Emory, allowing two goals and going
1-1-0... Emory defense has allowed just 12 shots over its last two
games, only four of which have been on goal.
